Starting a Business

You use all your savings to open a dressmaking shop. You are wondering how you will afford to keep your business going when you hear that Georgina Pierce, the daughter of a successful mill agent, is having a fancy party. You call on her and offer to make her a dress and hair decorations in the latest fashion from Gody's Lady's Magazine at a very low price. She agrees, is delighted with the dress, and recommends you to all her friends.

Soon you have more orders than you can fill. You hire some of your friends from the boardinghouse to help with the sewing. Your business grows, and you can afford to make frequent donations to the Factory Girls Association as well as to send money home to your parents.

Click to restart: You have reached the end of this path, but you can play again making different choices for Eliza.
